A GROUP of staff and management from Just Property in Margate braved the cold and wet weather recently to raise funds for the Lower South Coast SPCA. The team spent the afternoon ‘impounded’ at the SPCA’s kennels. Each member was allocated an ‘adoption fee’ which had to be raised before they could go home. An amazing R36 000 was raised, largely thanks to the support of the community, colleagues, friends and family of the impounded staff. The money will go towards the SPCA’s new crematorium project. Management of Just Property said the SPCA made them feel very welcome and that the fund-raiser was a combined effort from both parties. They urged more local businesses to get involved with the SPCA and help to support the wonderful work the organisation is doing. "It was a fun, successful drive. It was great to be involved with the SPCA. We will definitely look into doing something with them again in the future," – Lawrence Homan, franchisee of Just Property Margate. Michael Muller, manager of the SPCA, thanked everyone who supported the event. “It was simply a fantastic fund-raiser,” he said. Artice from southcoastherald.
