Carnarvon Primary School, a primary school situated in the poor community of Carnarvon, Northern Cape, selected ten lucky children to enjoy an exciting visit to the local airfield, the Carnarvon Aero Club. They resided on the grounds for two fun-filled days, where they enjoyed a one-of-a-kind experience with a group of volunteer pilots, including their very first flight in an aeroplane as well as numerous lessons about the aviation world.
Thanks to the generous donations from Just Property De Aar, these ten children were dazzled by all of the exciting experiences which come with being an aviator. It was incredibly rewarding for everyone involved to see these underprivileged children able to enjoy such a unique experience which surely touched the hearts of everyone.
The organising committee at Carnarvon Aero Club had this to say: “What a success! 10 kids selected from Carnarvon Primary School were hosted for two days at the airfield have now enjoyed their first flight and exposure to the aviation world. It will be an understatement to say that these kids were highly excited, only by witnessing the “glitter” in their eyes, the smile on their faces after receiving numerous gifts and culminating in climbing into an aircraft for the first time, departing and returning safely back to “Mother Earth”. On behalf of the Carnarvon Aero Club, Jabiru Jaunt 2015 organising committee and all the pilots who volunteered their time and aircraft, a big THANK YOU to Just Property Group Holdings (PTY) LTD for your generous contribution, you have touched the hearts of these kids coming from a really poor community in Carnarvon, Northern Cape.”
